The Finnish Parliament approved a bill legalizing same-sex unions in November 2014, and signed by the President on 20 February 2015. The law took effect on 1 March 2017.
27. Malta ( 1 September 2017 )
Malta’s parliament passed bill to legalize same-sex-marriage in July 2017. The law took effect on 1 September 2017.
28. Germany ( 1 October 2017 )
The Same-sex marriage bill was signed into law by President on 20 July and came into effect on 1 October 2017. Same-sex wedding has been legal in Germany since 1 October 2017.
29. Australia ( 9 December 2017 )
On 7 December 2017 Australian Parliament passed a bill legalizing same-sex marriage. it came just three weeks after Australians voted in favor of legalizing same-sex wedding, 61.6% Yes vote for same-sex wedding.
30. Bermuda ( 23 Nov. 2018)
Bermuda is a British Overseas Territory in the North Atlantic Ocean. Supreme Court’s ruling on 23 November 2018, thereby allowing same-sex wedding to resume once more in Bermuda. First time in May 2017 law come into effect but in June 2018 the law was reverse.
31. Austria ( 1 January 2019 )
On 5 December 2017, the Court struck down the ban on same-sex marriage as unconstitutional. Thus, same-sex couples have been allowed to marry since 1 January 2019.
32. Taiwan ( 24 May 2019 )
First Asian country where same-sex marriage is legal. On 17 May 2019, lawmakers in Taiwan approved a bill legalizing same-sex wedding. The bill was signed by the President on 22 May and came into effect on 24 May 2019.
On 24 May 2017, the Constitutional Court ruled that same-sex couples have the right to marry.
33. Ecuador ( 8 July 2019 )
On June 12, Ecuador’s Constitutional Court ruled that that same-sex couples have a right to marry. gay wedding took effect in Ecuador on 8 July 2019 following the Constitutional Court ruling.
34. Costa Rica ( 26 May 2020 )
On 8 August 2018, the Supreme Court ruled that the ban of same-sex marriage is unconstitutional, and court gave Congress 18 months to reform the law or the ban will be automatically lifted without legislation so it will be legal after 26 May 2020.

35. Mexico ( Dec. 2009 ) in Some Jurisdictions
In Mexico, same-sex marriages are performed in Mexico City and in 18 states as well as in certain municipalities. Mexico City, legalized gay marriage in Dec. 2009, and in 2010 Supreme Court ruled that same-sex marriages performed in Mexico City must be recognized throughout the country. Gay-wedding is not technically legal throughout the country though the Supreme Court issued a ruling in 2015 making same-sex wedding easier and gave couples the right to ask for court injunctions against state gay marriage bans.
