Every year we have seen many people ‘coming out of the closet’ in the month of June (pride month). And this year’s pride month is no different. Pride Month 2020 saw a huge number of celebrities who came out publicly on social media.
Here are 18 LGBTQ+ celebrities who came out on social media and celebrated this year’s Pride Month :
1. Taylor Schilling
The Emmy-nominated actress, Orange Is the New Black star Taylor Schilling AKA Piper Chapman, confirmed her sexuality and came out as gay. She also revealed her relationship with girlfriend Emily Ritz during Pride Weekend.
She share a post from Emily’s IG story where the two can be seen embracing each other on a foggy cliff. She wrote, “I couldn’t be more proud to be by your side @taylorschilling Happy Pride!”
2. Lili Reinhart
TV series Riverdale star, Lili Reinhart publicly came out as bisexual at the beginning of June. while supporting Black Lives Matter.
23-year-old actress write on her Instagram stories, “Although I’ve never announced it publicly before, I am a proud bisexual woman,” sharing a flyer for the peaceful ‘LGTBQ+ for #BlackLivesMatter’. “And I will be joining this protest today. Come join.”
3. Cara Delevingne
Cara Delevingne has come out as pansexual. During a recent interview with Variety for their “Power of Pride” issue, the British supermodel turned actress opened up about her sexuality, revealing that she identifies as pansexual. that she falls in love “with the person” and not their gender.
“I always will remain, I think, pansexual,” she added, saying that she is attracted to an individual’s personality and not their gender identity. “However one defines themselves, whether it’s ‘they’ or ‘he’ or ‘she’, I fall in love with the person – and that’s that. I’m attracted to the person.”
4. Chyler Leigh
Supergirl star Chyler Leigh who plays openly lesbian character Alex Danvers, talks about her own journey with her sexuality.
Leigh’s post Titled ‘Wear Your Pride’ was published Monday (June 8) on her website Create Change. Though she didn’t specifically label herself or her sexuality, Leigh talks about how the journey and coming out story of her openly-lesbian Supergirl character Alex Danvers helped her start to realize her own path.
5. Tana Mongeau
The social media star, who dated fellow pansexual celebrity Bella Thorne for two years from 2017-2019, opened up about her sexuality in a June (Pride Month) and came out as Pansexual in an Instagram post.
“I never thought I’d be brave enough to publicly share my sexuality in the way I do now.” “I still struggle with it. I hate the boxes, I hate people telling me I’m straight or discrediting my relationship if I’m with a girl. But I’m proud to be not only a member, but an ally of the LGBTQIA+ community and I’m proud to say I will live my life based on loving people, not for their gender, but their soul.”
6. Trevi Moran
Former X Factor contestant and YouTube personality Trevi Moran publicly opened up about her gender identity in early June, coming out as a trans woman.
21-year-old posted to her Instagram account. “I am so proud of the person I gave have become today. I am strong. My name is Trevi & I am a transgender woman. Happy Pride Month everyone.”
7. Justice Smith
The Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom star publicly came out as queer in an eloquent June Instagram post.
8. Raymix
Electrocumbia singer and record producer Raymix publicly came out as in an Instagram post in June.
“So many dreams do not fit in a damn closet. I’m officially saying it to the universe: I am Edmundo and I am gay,” says the singer.
9. Pablo Alborán
Grammy-nominated, Spanish singer-songwriter Pablo Alborán publicly opened about his sexuality, in an instagram video and came out as a proud gay man.
10. Daniel Arcos
Chilean basketball player Daniel Arcos came out as gay in an emotional three-page letter, that he post on his Instagram account.
